Zac from tabletopgamingnews.com pointed out that he also has a tag for Dwarf King’s Hold so you can peruse the important DKH news on his excellent site without worrying about all that… other stuff…
I’m sure such technical wizardry is no news for you savvy folk, but it’s the simple things that please me 🙂
And the game has just received the highest accolade in the world!!! Yes that’s right Jake you have received the Ministry of Cats, Approved by Cats seal. May I be the first to congratulate you and all those who worked so hard to make Dwarf Kings Hold a reality:

Enjoy the moment!!! But don’t take too long, people will want to hear your speech.
What an accolade! Or should that be: what? An accolade?
Seriously though, an award selected by a panel of the most intelligent race on the planet can’t be bad. Thanks FG, it’s a real honour. I shall put it on my virtual mantlepiece, next to the space reserved for my Nobel Peace Prize (pending).
You really should try out Green Menace and let us know what you think of that too. Several people have told me that they are surprised at how different it is, whilst still retaining the familiar gameplay. You may also be pleased to know that DKH 3 is on the way 🙂
Thanks again!
I’m hoping to get round to playing DKH:GM in the next few weeks. I’m still reviewing a few other games and trying to get a job!!! So its a bit hectic round here right now.
Hectic, shmectic! The cats say you need to play it!
bloody hell you’re worse than Dinah!!! I’m trying to find somebody to play it with who hasn’t also played DKH:DR, I have two candidates lined up but actually pinning them down to an actual day is proving trickier than a very tricky thing!!! What I will say though is I’m a Huge fan of the Mantic Orcs and I have a Mantic Orc army now and I’m not so keen on their Elves… not for many of the reasons already stated but because I find them awkward looking. But its the game I’m interested in. I’ve had a read of the rules and I am now chomping at the bit to get a game or three in but I need to pin a guinea pig down!!!
I appreciate the guinea pig problem entirely. I sometimes have similar problems getting things playtested.
With the Mantic Elves, I found that I liked them much more when I got them in my hand to look at properly. I don’t think the paint jobs and photos online do justice to the subtleties of posing some of them have. Perhaps I should try to illustrate that myself. I do have some issues with them, though I currently don’t need Elves for anything else so it’s not a big issue for me.
For me its an aesthetic thing with the Elves I know some people like them, but I’m not one of them. I too however don’t see it as a problem as I don’t require massed Elves for anything else and am currently working are far too many projects any way. I’m hoping to get some games in over the next two weeks. I haven’t put my reviews of Mansions of Madness, Dust Tactics or even Chaos in the Old World up yet either. I’m one of those people who lies to get a fair few games under my belt before I make a judgement. For the original DKH:DR review I played a fair few rapid games over and over again. This time round I’m being a bit more considered in how I review products, taking my time and rather than just cramming games in I’m doing it as planned events with specific people so I get a better level of detail and information with which to form my opinions.
Sounds good to me. Which reminds me; I need to add the photos of DUST to the review (and possibly expand it a bit). I loaned the game out, and I should be getting it back tonight, when I’m playing it again anyway.
(Also like the Freudian slip – 5th sentence: “I’m one of…” )
🙂
lol its more like a Dyslexia slip!!! Although sometime I have to lie to people about my outrageous luck… I still remain unbeaten in wargames and the last game of DW I played might actually have made my opponent quit wargaming. Hasn’t played any game now in 2 weeks and has said he needs a break from it. This is somebody who used to play 3 to 4 games a week, every week!!! My luck was utterly hideous again. 😦
I sunk a Dreadnought and 2 Cruisers on the first criticals against them two double 1’s and a single double 6. He was swearing profusely and was not very happy at all. Perhaps its me who needs to take the break… nah, I say make the most of it while it lasts.
Luckily for me you don’t live in Nottingham 🙂
