Well here I am again. It seems like ages since I posted, mainly because it has been. Sorry about that. There are all sorts of reasons for my absence, but none of them are intrinsically interesting enough to bother you chaps (and chapesses) with. So I won’t.
Rather than muddle half a dozen subjects together in one post, I’ll syphon them off into separate missives, starting with one about the Dungeon Saga playtest day we had on Saturday. I’ll write that once I’ve posted this.
Even though I’ve not been here to blither about it, I have been thinking many gaming thoughts during my time away, and beavering away on several projects too. There are some exciting things on the horizon. So, with a little luck I should be able to use this backlog of intriguing notions to post a bit more frequently than not at all – I like to set my sights high 🙂
So, this is really just to say that I’m back. Jolly nice it is too.
Hey Jake !
It’s been ages indeed ! Glad to hear from you again 😀
I hope you’re doing fine and you’ll stay around some time !
Did you grab a Conan KS box ?
Hi Pika,
no, I didn’t go in for Conan in the end. I decided that I already have more things on the shelf (and still working their way through KS) than I have time to play – especially with some other things I’m working on now and want to playtest as well. It was one I looked at for some time though.
Welcome back! Looking forward to Dungeon Saga news! I don’t envy your task of catching up with comments while you’ve been away because my inbox gets updates on posts daily so its going to be a mighty task!
Just posted up comments on the DS day. Comments? Oh yes, that’s a big task 😛
Welcome back, Jake. We’ve missed you.
I missed me too 🙂
Nice to read you again. Cheers from Spain.
🙂
Great to hear from you again,
Hope the backlog of questions isn’t too daunting.
Welcome back.
Welcome back, nice to read your ponders again!
Welcome back, always great to read up on your various project! Sounds like it has been the good kind of busy with all those Mantic Games and all 😉
Hurray!
You were missed. I’m happy and excited to find you’ve returned!
Hey Jake. I hope you are well.
I’ve kinda been flipping out over having 4 new DBX teams and a dozen MVPs here on my desk that I can’t use in DBX (and I don’t own DBO). You got at least some beta rules lying around you could share?
Hi LB. Which teams?
Brokkrs, Hobgoblins, Sphyr and Rebs. There’s stats in the Season 4 book, but I don’t know how to use them in DBX with the sponsors and all.
Ah, yes. That’s a little involved and goes back to the way that the full rules for sponsors and team selection work. I’ve gone over this before (I think): it’s a case of comparing groups that the sponsor and player know to find how many they have in common, and then paying the appropriate price. People who share the same circles of friends get preferential rates. Unfortunately I can’t find the right file immediately. I’ll see if I can dig it out.
Good to have you back. Maybe the stuff keeping you offline gave you tons of more time write game stuff but i normally find the opposite is true.
